The german Priest Jakob is the main protagonist of Ouroboros, a video game project created with a small team at my university.
Besides being responsible for the general art direction of the game I was tasked with the character creation. After developing a first concept with the team I started sculpting the body in ZBrush. The clothing was done in Marvelous Designer and later setup with cloth simulation in Unreal Engine. I used Substance Painter for texturing and created maps for the hair using xGen and xNormals. General setup, placing of hair cards aswell as rigging was done in Maya.
I encountered many challenges while creating this character. Especially having to work from nothing but a rough concept proved quite difficult, aswell as creating a full game ready character while also functioning as the creative lead of the team. However this character was a great opportunity to test my full skills in a production enviroment and I really enjoyed working on this project.
In the end I am very pleased with the result and a big thank you to my amazing team.
